Cohrs
- Etymologie Cohrs, Cord, Cordes, Cordsen, Corssen etc. and the same names starting with "K" have their origin in the name Konrad. This is the official Latin version of the old German emperors name Kunrad (bold adviser). In Southern Germany names with an "u" like Kurt were developed from this name, in Nothern Germany we find the "o" names above. |
- Geschichte meines Zweiges / History of my branch My ancestors all lived in the area around the city of Hannover (Old documents often contain the word Hannover. In most cases the person who wrote it meant the kingdom of Hannover, the area of lower saxony today - and not the city!). They lived in Großburgwedel till 1870 and after that near Gehrden. They worked as Teachers and Preachers, the surnames of their wifes were, in chonological order: Maseberg, Meyer, Leisenberg, Dedeke, Faschen. |
- Sonstiges I didn`t find a coat of arms of my Cohrs family, yet. |
